
Students will learn to draw by learning to see, and take home a beautiful drawing every week.
Students will be introduced to the elements of art and will learn to draw animals with step-by-step instruction. Weekly 2 hour classes include lessons on the color wheel, line, shape, form, and an introduction to Still Life. Mediums include high-quality markers, color pencils, and pastel. Note that this curriculum is for all ages, not just young children, and it's encouraged for all students to start with Beginning Drawing, or take it if starting with Drawing 2.

Students will continue to develop their ability to see, and take home a beautiful drawing every week.
Students will integrate the elements of art into learning to draw more animals, mammals, reptiles, insects, birds, fish, etc, with step by step instruction, continuing to develop their skills with color, line, shape, form and creativity. Mediums include high-quality markers, colored pencils, and pastel.

Recommended, but not required, for students who have completed the year-long Beginning Drawing and Drawing 2 classes.
This new class is for students who are still interested in drawing animals., but have probably completed 2 years of drawing animals, but aren't yet ready for Still Life and other drawing subjects and techniques. Students will start off drawing animals, and then progress into new forms such as Still Life, and drawing from nature, depending upon the maturity, growth and interest found in each individual class. They will continue to develop their skills with color, line, shape, form and creativity. Mediums include high-quality markers, colored pencils, soft turquoise pencils with stumps, and pastel.

This course provides a balanced visual arts program which guides students to achieve the standards in the visual arts and visual perception while participating in various forms of creative expression.
Students will apply the elements of art in learning how to see, understanding contour drawing, positive and negative space, value, linear perspective, and color theory, starting by applying the grid method, and eventually learning to draw without a grid.

In these 2 hour classes, students will learn how to draw a different sea animal every day, and will paint their watercolor habitat.

Students will learn:
- fun facts about sea animals
- how to draw animals step by step
- how to paint with watercolor and watercolor special effects

Once you are on the list for a class, you need to register for the class at this link. Payment options are provided here.

Registration is complete after payment is made. You can choose to pay for the whole semester, or by monthly installments, paid before the first of the month. Payment can be made with cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, or ApplePay.

If you don't know which class is right for your child, please call or text the teachers to get help deciding.

If the 4-student minimum is not met, you may have to switch to another time slot to fill another class. Also, a new class may be started or changed if there is a greater need than what's already scheduled.
At the end of the Spring Semester, we put on an art show with all our students' work on display in our home gallery.
Our Student Art Show was over 3 days, starting on Friday, May 29, 5-8 pm, and including Saturday, May 30, 2-4 pm, and Sunday, May 31, 2-4 pm. Get a look at the art show by watching this video.
