Painting I (grades 7 and up)

Students will explore painting with acrylics, opaque watercolor and oil paint. They will also learn the old masters technique of oil painting in the style of Peter Paul Rubens.  (Supplies to be purchased by students)

 Mon: 1:30-3:30 pm  

Drawing I (grades 7 and up)

Students will explore line, shape, form, texture, contrast, perspective, eye-hand coordination, and the art of seeing. Charcoal, graphite, color-pencil, conte crayon will be used with still-life, figure, portraiture, right-brain/left-brain technique. Some art experience required. (Supplies included)

Art II (gr. 4-6)

A fun exploration of mixed-media collage, colored pencil, watercolor, tempera and sculpture as a group with simple instruction. A great art foundation!

Art I (gr. K-3)

Dynamic Figure Drawing (grades 7 and up)

Using photographs and models, students will learn to draw the human figure in short and long poses in a variety of mediums. 

Thurs. 1:30-3:30

Beginning Acrylic Painting (teen & adult)

These classes are a fun, low-stress introduction to painting. Students will complete an acrylic painting step by step, beginning by drawing the image on the 16X20 canvas, to completion, while learning basic use of materials and brush technique, color mixing, and what it means to be a "painterly" artist. (Supplies included)
