We are pleased to be able to offer this VAPA course for 9 - 12th graders, meeting the a-g requirement for credit in applying to the UC system.
This course provides a balanced visual arts program which guides students to achieve the standards in the visual arts and visual perception while participating in various forms of creative expression.
Instructor: Mark DeRaud
Times (Tentative): Wednesday, 10 am - 12 noon
Thursday, 5 7 pm
In this 1-year program, students will apply the elements of art in the following units: learning how to see, contour drawing, positive and negative space, value drawing, pen and ink drawing, linear perspective, color theory, watercolor, pastel, portraits, design concepts and careers.
If you want to find another way for your high schoolers to gain their a-g VAPA credits, you can take the course in 6-week sessions at The Unschool Hub. The first session with Instructor Mark DeRaud starts on Friday, Sept. 6, 9:30 - 11:30 am, and runs through October 11. There will be more Art 1 sessions offered throughout the semester.
Cost: $160/6 weeks + materials
